Privacy Policy

Vyper Player ("the application") is a media player published by Vyper Player. This page describes the data processed by the application and how it is used.

1. Nature of the application

The application is a player only. It does not provide, host, sell or recommend any channel, movie, series or content. The user enters the address and credentials of a service they subscribe to with a third-party provider; the application merely plays the streams made available by that provider. The publisher has no relationship with these providers and is not responsible for the content users choose to access.

2. Data collected

Device identifier: a technical identifier generated by the application or provided by the platform (not linked to your identity), together with the device model and the application version. They are used to manage the trial period and the activation of the application.
IP address: recorded by our server during technical exchanges (activation, verification), for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
Your playlist credentials (service address, username, password): stored only on your device. They are sent to our server only if you use the "Manage from my phone" feature, in order to be transmitted to your device; they are then kept for as long as you keep them in that management page.

The application does not collect any name, e-mail address, phone number, geographic location, contacts or viewing history. No data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes. The application contains no advertising.

3. Third-party services

The Movie Database (TMDB): to display posters, summaries and cast of movies and series, the application sends the searched title to TMDB. See the TMDB privacy policy.
YouTube: trailers are played from YouTube, subject to Google's terms.
Your service provider: streams are played directly from the server of the provider you entered; that provider sees your IP address and your credentials, under its own rules.

4. Storage location, retention and security

Data is stored on our server located in France (European Union); backups are kept in Lithuania (European Union). No data is transferred outside the European Union. Activation data is kept as long as the device uses the application, and at most 12 months after its last connection. Exchanges with our server are encrypted (HTTPS) and signed. Playlist credentials stored on the device are deleted when you remove the playlist or uninstall the application.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may request access to, rectification or deletion of the data linked to your device identifier by writing to contact@vyperplayer.com, quoting the identifier shown in the application (Settings). Deletion results in the loss of the activation.

6. Children

The application is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data about them. A PIN-protected parental control is available in the settings.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated; the date at the top of the page indicates the latest version.
